Greencourt Heights Front Entrance Perspective
A Playful Take on Urban Mixed-Use Development
Set in Ottawa, Ontario, the Greenboro Station Mixed-Use Development is located at the heart of a vibrant transit hub, directly adjacent to the LRT station. This project blends residential, commercial, and recreational spaces to create a dynamic, sustainable community designed to cater to urban dwellers and commuters alike. The development was inspired by my experience with community-focused design projects and the importance of fostering connections between people, spaces, and nature. The residential buildings are thoughtfully designed to include a mix of one and two bedroom units, catering to diverse demographics, from young professionals to growing families. Many of the apartments feature large windows and balconies, maximizing natural light and providing views of the adjacent park and bustling station.

The Project Guidelines
This project was shaped by several constraints, including limits on the overall square footage allocated for residential, commercial, and green spaces, as well as environmental sustainability requirements. Glass elements were incorporated throughout the buildings, ensuring abundant natural light and enhancing energy efficiency. The park’s design includes native plants and permeable surfaces to support biodiversity and stormwater management.
One of the centerpieces of the project is a beautifully landscaped public park, providing much-needed green space for relaxation and recreation. The park features walking paths, playgrounds, and areas for outdoor gatherings, connecting the residential and commercial spaces with nature. Designed with accessibility in mind, the park encourages active lifestyles and offers a retreat from the surrounding urban environment.
